There is Freedom and There is Freedom
‘’There is freedom, and there is freedom,’’
Mũmbi explains to her progeny in Eden.
‘’The fanciful child you are on the inside,
And it never does well confined or denied.
It’s why it’s fought for, close to the bone.
All else is cross-eyed deception shown,
A fire started by those drunk with decay,
An ugly thing they breed with devotion, astray.’’
In spirit, her progeny inquire upon their call,
‘’Mother of all, how can we discern the false?’’
‘’March ahead! There are stars, and there are stars,
Holding up the roof of heavens in high regards,
And there is you, their autonomous spirit;
Speak, live as their witness in daylight, dearest.
Your heritage is like an old psalm of sunlight:
Fields turn green, blooms open with colors upright.
You’ve become a prophet trumpeting the truth,
Raising the living from the dead, willing to the tooth,
To show how heavens trim our world round.
The disbelievers will cause a scuffle, frowned,
They’ll say they cannot hear the music.
How can they when music isn’t for the deaf to lick?
You’ll talk of how jasmine is sweet to twilight,
They’ll scoff from their no sense of smell, quite right!
You do not let up! You insist! Persevere!’’
Mũmbi, in response, gives her blessings as cheer.
